BELMONT TAVERN
This client came to me looking for a logo for a bar in Chicago. Belmont Tavern used to be a thriving institution, but has been shuttered for years. A brilliant Chicago mixologist is breathing new life into the space to reopen in early 2026. I used to live in Chicago, and thought about the bunnies I would see out and about when I walked home late at night in my 20s. I took inspiration from woodcut bar signs and old print ads and put together a fun but simple brand that will stand the test of time.
MUST-HAVES: Vintage feel. adaptability for merch, color homage to the owner’s family bar
DELIVERABLES: Logo, brand colors, matchbook designs
WHAT THE CLIENT HAD TO SAY: "Ruby has an intuition when it comes to design. I was inexplicably drawn to this logo which has subsequently created a welcomed identity and story we have been able to successfully build our brand around."
